“Eye On You” by Hippies With Haircuts – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Hippies With Haircuts is one of Bobby Orlando’s studio projects from the early 80s – there is no mistaking his synthesizers and hard hitting percussion. “Eye On You” is a strange and somewhat twisted track that is mysterious and alluring – and every bit as cheesy as synth-pop disco can get.
I do not know where this concept came from – in my head – but just popped in and was edited. Taking the 1971 suspense thriller “Play Misty For Me” and placing the obsessed Jessica Walter on disc jockey Clint Eastwood. The ending of course is not a happy one – someone makes a big splash – and it’s not in the music world.
The film was directed by Clint Eastwood – and he did not receive any pay for his work – believe it or not
